Memories of Charlottesville
Comments on Charlottesville memories Everything was smaller then- less complicated and congested. Nurses wore white and had to pass inspection-dress code. Males at U.Va. wore coats and ties.

Comments on vivid memories No one thing. We studied hard and worked hard. Each day presented challenging cases and cares. Due to the absence of many Drs. and nurses who joined the armed forces, as students we tried to do our part for the war effort in their absence.

Comments on influence of cultural background As a senior I was head nurse on "F" ward, which was a 30 bed unit for colored males. They received the same nursing care as those patients who were on the Barringer Wings. I still remember their gratitude.
Did UVA prepare you for post-UVA life?
Comments on preparedness Yes, It helped in rearing my children and enabled me to offer skills to family and friends.

Comments on most significant event After leaving U.Va. and 3 children grown and finished college, I took a refresher course at J. Sargeant Reynolds Comm. College and worked afterwards for 15 years. Retired at 70.
