Comments on important issues |
I recall that President Roosevelt expired while I was a student--The train carrying the President's body came through Charlottesville and we were allowed to go to the train station--a memorable experience. The war (World War II) was very much with us in many aspects during my time as a student.

I don't recall any actual dislikes. Our rooms were quite small, but we all seemed to accept our circumstances . Later, McKim Hall was enlarged and I shared a much larger room with a roommate.

Hospital cafeteria, unless we could eat off campus.

Comments on Charlottesville memories |
Delightful and beautiful area--not much industry as I recall and a much slower pace than I have witnessed on my return visits to reunions.

Did you feel part of UVA community? |
|
Did you feel part of community? |
|
Incidents that caused these community feelings |
I feel the fact that I was there during the years of World War II influenced this period. Also, nursing responsibilities and discipline (dorm restrictions, etc) prevented much interaction in the community.
