Comments on preparedness	I went to China and then Taiwan as a medical missionary where my assignment was teaching student nurses. I was very well prepared.

Comments on most significant event	1) WWII. 2) China mainland being taken over by the Communist Regime. Our first child was born in Shanghai, China, which caused my husband and myself to be separated. I was advised to return to the states on the General Gordon, while my husband was detained for 2 years longer by the Communists.
