Why did you choose UVA?
Comments on choice to attend UVA I needed to prepare for a career-UVA accepted me. The wait until 1936 was due to limited enrollment.
How did you finance UVA?
Comments on financing That's a good question. We were required to buy our books and uniform our first year- $80. A good friend gave me a job in his laundry. My sister sent me $5 each month - when she started her family. My brother who was in the CCC camp sent me $5 - mother a widow could not help me.
Why did you choose your UVA concentration(s)?
Comments on choice of concentration Women had few choices in careers in 1936. I didn't want to be a teacher, being a nurse appealed to me.
