Incidents that caused these community feelings Just walking across the grounds to gym, tennis courts, chapel, Newcomb Hall, library was affirming.

Comments on influence of cultural background U.Va. was white then, and I am white. The hospital did integrate units my 1st year and I was interested in concept and practice - or avoidance of policy!

Comments on preparedness Definitely. By graduation my sense of myself as nurse was established and based on sound knowledge, experiences, opportunities.

Additional comments Being a student at U.Va. prior to co-ed days was fun and exciting and very manageaable. The [hx?] of the University excited me then, as now. The excellence in education and experience have served me well. Two children have attended college '93 daughter and son presently 3rd year engineering.
