Did you feel part of community? |
|
Incidents that caused these community feelings |

Vivid UVA memories |
|
Comments on vivid memories |
As senior nursing students, we were paired with deans and professors from the medical school for the Grand March at a formal ball. This was very exciting. Nurses were expected to behave as ladies with appropriate manners and adherence to dorm rules. We had a housemother, Mrs. Jeter, who scrutinized every date. Males had to sign into the dorm, were only allowed in the parlor, and had to leave by 11 P.M.

I am proud to say that my eldest son will be graduating from the U.Va. Medical School this spring (1998). My second son is also doing well, although he did not have the benefit of THE University experience. He lives in Lynchburg - maybe he will someday!
