Comments on choice of concentration Nursing and education were the two fields most accepting of women at the time of my attendance at U.Va. I probably would choose differently now.

Comments on Charlottesville memories It was a wonderful place to live. I moved there when I was 6 years and will always have a special place in my heart for the area.

Incidents that caused these community feelings The nursing students were isolated from the rest of the University. Our classes were held in McKim Hall and there was very little integration.

Comments on personal factors Raising my children and moving as often as we did (military) prevented me from working as much as I would have liked. I probably would have pursued a graduate degree under other circumstances.
