UVA weekend activities
Comments on weekend activities We only had 2 weekends "off" each month. We worked at U.Va. Hospital 2 weekends/month. I usually had to do papers, etc. study on the other 2 - rarely left U.Va. and McKim Hall.

Comments on extra-curricular organizations Student government (of School of Nursing) - President of my senior class - A good epxerience in leadership but had nothing to do with the "rest" of the University.

Comments on meal location Hospital - the food in that cafeteria is probably my worst memory of U.Va. It truly was awful.

Memories of Charlottesville
Comments on Charlottesville memories A nice "town" (then) which we barely got to see or know. Beautiful area. We would walk downtown to a movie from McKim Hall - in safety - even past Vinegar Hill.

Incidents that caused these community feelings Nurses were quite segregated. We were extremely isolated at the hospital (I thought) and also extremely busy - as we worked for the hospital to pay room and board - on weekend, summers and other University breaks.

Did UVA prepare you for post-UVA life?
Comments on preparedness I got a wonderful education from a world renowned University. It does impress people to say you are a U.Va. graduate. I think it was a factor in my obtaining my current position.
