Memories of Charlottesville |
|
Comments on Charlottesville memories |
It was a beautiful college town, much more open around hospital and dorm before all the new buildings were added. The most beautiful time of year was spring with the blooming of the dogwoods and redbud, tulips, etc.

Did you feel part of UVA community? |
|
Did you feel part of community? |
|
Incidents that caused these community feelings |
The nursing students were not really accepted into the whole overall picture of the University, perhaps because it was not co-ed at the time and all the nursing students were female. One specific incident to allow us to feel a part of the University was when the nursing school choir was invited to perform over the U.Va. student radio station..

The greatest barrier in nursing in the past few years is government regulated increase in paperwork which leaves direct patient care to auxilliary personnel instead of the nurse.
