Comments on life impact Nursing instructors - I was with them most of the time. Expectations were clear. An English professor who taught me to think out of a box.

Comments on memorable educational experience I was amazed at what I learned. After a 3 year diploma program, U.Va. helped me to start critically thinking about other subjects beside nursing.

Incidents that caused these community feelings I wasn't a part of the community because I chose not to be.
Vivid UVA memories
Comments on vivid memories In English composition I was really challenged by the professor to think. It was a challenge to think on my feet about issues outside of nursing. Writing my opinions and being able to defend them caused me discomfort but promoted growth.
Did marital status affect UVA experiences
Comments on influence of marital status I got married one semester before I graduated. It was the best decision of my life. 40 years later I am as sure as ever. My husband played football and belonged to SAE (Sigma Alpha Epsilon?) so our marriage opened many social doors.

Additional comments One thing that impressed me while I was at the University was the Honor Code. It truly was a system of trust and character building experiences. My baccalaureate education provided a strong foundation that I have built upon with a masters degree and Ph.D.
