Nursing instructors - I was with them most of the time. Expectations were clear. An English professor who taught me to think out of a box.

In English composition I was really challenged by the professor to think. It was a challenge to think on my feet about issues outside of nursing. Writing my opinions and being able to defend them caused me discomfort but promoted growth.

I got married one semester before I graduated. It was the best decision of my life. 40 years later I am as sure as ever. My husband played football and belonged to SAE (Sigma Alpha Epsilon?) so our marriage opened many social doors.

One thing that impressed me while I was at the University was the Honor Code. It truly was a system of trust and character building experiences. My baccalaureate education provided a strong foundation that I have built upon with a masters degree and Ph.D.
