After completing final examination in B.F.D. Runk's class, I went by his office to express my appreciation to him for what I had learned and it took him several minutes to recover and respond. Obviously, that's something that male students did not do and would probably not be true today because there are many more females enrolled. I still wonder if male students today express their appreciation for their good instructors.

Education expanded basic knowledge in nursing and certainly enabled me to teach students in a school of nursing for 16 1/2 years and perform well as a training coordinator in a geriatric facility and later as an assistant director of nursing in a psychiatric facility.
